Frost-Rimmed Bigleaf Maple Leaves at Jackson Bottom, Oregon

Near the base of the trunk of a bigleaf maple, I saw these leaves covered with and outlined with a granular rime frost that almost looked like sugar crystals. This picture was taken just as the first rays of the sun struck these leaves.
