I've always been fond of this picture, although the light wasn't ideal when I shot it. I've stopped by the same spot seveal times over the years trying to improve on it, but I'll be lucky to encounter just the right combination of water level, grass growth, and light for the shot I would like to take.
One of the things I like about this photo is its simplicity. True, in one sense it is a busy photo with so many blades of grass moving in the water. But in another sense, the elements in the picture just include the color of the water, the color masses of the grass, and the curved shape of the creek.
The grass in this photo is reed canary grass, an invasive species in Oregon. A native of Europe, it was introduced to North America as cattle forage but, like many introduced species, it has adapted to its new home far too well.
