A Live Oak Trunk is Draped with California Spanish Moss on the Hearst Ranch at San Simeon on the California Coast.
This picture of a contorted trunk of a coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia Nee) was taken on the Hearst Ranch near San Simeon, California. I found this tree in a draw between Highway 1 and the Pacific Ocean, draped in California spanish moss (Ramalina menziesii). The shady gully provided a dark background and sufficient contrast to make an interesting photo.
