One evening as I was driving back to Portland from Hood River shortly before sunset, I saw clouds forming a fan above the Columbia River. The clouds seemed almost to be designed to complement the shape of Wind (right) and Shellrock (left) Mountains and the gap formed between them.
I thought that it would probably develop into a good sunset shot, so I found a safe place to park and then scrambled through the brush to a rock outcrop that offered a clear view downriver. I shot a roll of film as the sunset developed and waned, and was very pleased with the results.
