This picture was taken on a frosty fall morning in a marsh between Upper Waterfowl Lake and Peyto Lake near the Icefields Parkway. The water in the pond was just a few inches deep and the pond was filled with rushes that were curled over at the top.
The peak in the background is a 9600 ft high sub-peak of 10,489 ft Mount Patterson which is just off the frame to the left. This pond is at about 5600 feet in elevation.
