Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Ewe and Lamb Grazing in the Canadian Rockies.

This picture was taken along the highway shoulder a few miles north of Jasper Townsite near the south end of Jasper Lake. Bighorn sheep frequent a few well-known places along the roadsides, which they appear to favor as a source of minerals.

The ewes and lambs are quite docile and tolerant of humans. As with all wild animals, though, keep your distance for the safety of yourself and the animals. This photo was taken with a telephoto lens.
