This photo of 8275 foot/2522 meter high Mount Norquay was taken on a fall morning from across the Bow Valley just opposite Vermilion Lakes. The marsh in the foreground is located just below the Cave and Basin parking lot. Part of this marsh is accessible via a very nice elevated boardwalk that leads down to water level just below Cave and Basin.
Mt Norquay is the location of the Ski Banff @ Norquay ski area which is on the opposite side of the nearest peak. By the way, the road up to the Mt. Norquay ski area offers views of the Banff area second only to the views from the top of the Sulpher Mountain Gondola.
