Art deco stucco sculpture and deco glass block crown a Morro Bay storefront.
This photo shows the tower on a fabulous Art Deco storefront in Morro Bay, California. A polarizer was used to dramatically darken the sky.

The building incorporated lots of glass block in the design as well as many other decorative features. Is the detail on the top of the tower meant to be a cornucopia? Is it a nautilus? Is it both?

This building was undergoing extensive interior and exterior renovation when I discovered it, so I don't have any pictures of the entire building, only vignettes of architectural details. To see some Streamline Moderne details on this building, click here.
