This picture was taken from a riverside bluff on the Oregon side of the Columbia River just east of Starvation Creek State Park. As I was driving back from Hood River on this evening, I saw an interesting pattern of clouds forming over the river. I watched for the right opportunity and as approached the Starvation Creek area I saw the pattern in the sky forming a symmetry with Wind Mountain on the right and Shellrock Mountain on the left.
I parked on the shoulder of I-84, scrambled through the brush to a low cliff overlooking the water, set up, and started shooting.
