Poison Larkspur (Delphinium trollifolium), growing beside the Historic Columbia River Highway switchback just west of Latourell Falls.
This photo shows a group of Larkspur blossoms, probably Poison Larkspur (Delphinium trollifolium), growing beside the Historic Columbia River Highway switchback just west of Latourell Falls. This photo shows a typical scene in the western Gorge; lots of green foliage, and lots of small flowers. There are a few pink Bleeding Hearts (Dicentra formosa) and many small, white, five-petaled flowers which I didn't take time to identify when I was shooting the photo. This photo was taken in mid-May, which is an ideal time to visit the west end of the Gorge.
