Waterleaf grows in moist woodland locations in the eastern Columbia River Gorge. This example was photographed just east of the Lyle tunnels on Washington State Highway 14. Waterleaf is a plant whose buds, shown here, are more attractive (in my opinion) than the actual flowers. Also note the very pretty foliage.
