Big-head Clover Flower in Bloom Along Dalles Mountain Road, Washington.
Big-head clover blooming on Dalles Mountain Road, a popular wildflower viewing location in the Columbia River Gorge.
Big-head clover is very pretty perennial wildflower with showy flowerheads up to 2 inches in diameter. Color ranges from pale pink to a dark rose-pink like this example. Note the stripes on the leaves. This example in this picture was photographed along Dalles Mountain Road on April 9, 2006.

In the Columbia River Gorge, big-head clover is found from near Beacon Rock (Slichter) east at least to the summit of Dalles Mountain Road (personal observation). Big-head clover is found in Washington and Oregon east of the Cascade Mountains and ranges east to Idaho and south to Nevada and Northern California.

Jolley spells the name "big-head clover" and Strickler calls it "bigheaded clover". In California it is also known as "giants-head clover" and "largehead clover".
