Bare-Stem Desert Parsley (Lomatium nudicaule) doesn't get a lot of 'press' like Lupine or Balsamroot, but it is a significant wildflower in the Columbia Hills of southern Washington in the eastern Columbia River Gorge. On some hillsides, it is the predominate wildflower. Close inspection reveals cute little yellow pom-poms suspended on long bare stems.
