Yellow Bells are a member of the lily family. In the Columbia River Gorge they grow east of Dog Mountain at all elevations.

This picture was taken in the first week of March along the paved lower trail at Catherine Creek.

Catherine Creek is located on Old Highway 8 just north of Highway 14. From the Hood River Bridge go east 5.8 miles to Rowland Lake. Turn left on Old Highway 8 and go east 1.5 miles to a well-marked parking area.
