For decades the Oneonta Tunnel sat unused and neglected, filled with rubble. A few years ago, it was not only reopened, it was fully restored to the original specification and appearance, including a full cedar lining.
I missed the rededication ceremony, but I was lucky enough to visit the tunnel while the cedar was still fresh. The air in the tunnel was rich with the wonderful, rich, complex odor of Western Red Cedar when I took this photo.
I don't do a lot of HDR work, but this photo is one of the more successful applications of that technology that I have done.
