The low-growing juniper in this picture is a common groundcover in the Canadian Rockies. It is also widely used for low-maintenance landscaping. The shrub grows up to about 18" high and forms sprawling clumps. The berries are about a quarter inch in diameter and are shown here with frost from an early fall morning. It's a very aromatic plant.
