The organizations listed below are doing important work to preserve the remnants of the natural world that I love to photograph:

National:

The Nature Conservancy protects irreplaceable habitat through innovative partnerships with landowners and government agencies. TNC is a non-political organization

The Sierra Club has been a powerful advocate for the environment in the political arena for decades. The Sierra Club says it is "America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization."

National Audubon Society

National Wildlife Federation

Regional:

One of my favorite regional organizations is the Oregon Natural Desert Association. ONDA works to minimize grazing damage on public lands and was instrumental in the establishment of the Steens Mountains Wilderness Area.

Friends of the Columbia Gorge was founded in 1981 to preserve the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge and their efforts resulted in the creation of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Friends continues to work today to address fresh challenges to this unique treasure.

In northwestern Oregon, The Tualatin Riverkeepers work to preserve and enhance the Tualatin River watershed, an increasingly urbanized basin.
