Yaquina Bay Bridge at Newport, Oregon, is one of Conde McCullough's Classic Hwy 101 Designs
This photo was taken on the Newport side of Yaquina Bay at low tide from Yaquina Bay State Park.

This bridge is one of many in Oregon designed by famed engineer Conde McCullough.  It carries US Highway 101 across the bay.  It was completed and opened in 1936.

Perhaps a less elaborate design might have cost less to build - I really don't know.  On the other hand, this beautiful structure has been enriching the lives of all who see and use it for over 75 years.
