Battery Point Lighthouse at Crescent City is both picturesque and accessible. The light is still in operation as a private aid to navigation. The lighthouse is currently in the car of the Del Norte County Historical Society, which offers tours of the lighthouse and it's museum. Battery Point Lighthouse is sited on a small island and is only accessible by foot at low tide.
This photo was taken on the oceanfront drive a little to the north. Using a telephoto lens, the near-vertical northern California coast makes a great backdrop.
