This picture of Mt. Hood was taken early on a fall morning from an old logging landing above the White River. The White River Glacier can be seen on the left side of the mountain. The smooth slope at the left edge is the Palmer Snowfield, site of the highest lift of Timberline Lodge, where skiing takes place all summer. The slopes on the right flank of the mountain are served by Mt. Hood Meadows.
